Happy New Year and welcome to the new decade. REWIND started our year off literally on fire by performing for Mac’s Convenience Stores Olympic Torch Stop on January 18th. What an exciting and special moment it was to be part of the torch run. Luckily the weather cooperated (+9) as this event was held in a tent in the parking lot of Mac’s Western Division office in Calgary. The invited guests fortunate enough to be in attendance were treated to great food, refreshments and memorabilia from sponsor Coca-Cola, old time rock ’n roll music by our band and the transfer of the Olympic flame from one torch to another inside of the tent. A big REWIND thank you to Mac’s for allowing us to be part of this special event-we look forward to performing for their Christmas Party later this year.
February 13th will see us in Hanna for the Valentines Sweetheart Dance sponsored by the Hanna Figure Skating Club. This first annual event promises to be a day to remember with the early part of the day featuring the “Battle of the Blades” in the arena followed by the old time rock ‘n roll party in the community center. The Figure Skating Club expects tremendous interest in this event and attendees are urged to get their tickets early by contacting Doray at 403-854-4804.

REWIND would like to take this opportunity to extend Season's Greetings to our friends, family, and everyone who attended our events in 2009. This past year has been very rewarding for the band and we certainly enjoyed playing for and meeting so many great people. It's heartwarming to know that there is still a wide audience that enjoys old time rock 'n roll. Our band's commitment to keeping this music alive is stronger than ever and as such we are focusing almost exclusively on music from the golden era of Rock 'n Roll. We would also like to thank everyone who has visited our website since it was launched last April. To date we have had almost 18,000 hits in just 9 months. We have received many positive comments on the design and content of our website and for that we owe a big thank you to Steve and Jodi. They have done an amazing job on our behalf. Well the band members of REWIND have finished having their summer hiatus and are now focusing on our winter activities. We had a great summer and hope you all did too. We had many a gig this past summer and had a great time providing good old Rock/Roll music to many. We just returned from Spruce View this past weekend where we had the pleasure of playing to an excited crowd of dancers. The band members of REWIND are realy hoping to return there as it is a nice community with great people. We had a BLAST! I would like to remind everyone that REWIND has been asked to play for the Hanna Lions Comedy/Rock/Roll dinner and dance once again. This is one event you do not want to miss! Happy summer everyone. Thanks to those who submitted previous comments to the Rewind website and yes, they are now finally posted. Unfortunatley they were floating around in cyberspace somewhere and thanks to our website guru Steve, the lost is found. We really appreciate receiving comments and encourage everyone to continue to send them.
On June 27th we played for the Edge Technologies client party held at the Calgary Pioneer Club. Thanks to the Kelman's and their staff, this was a first class event that included everything from a face painter to a caricature artist to an excellent BBQ followed by Rewind. A big thanks to all the folks that partied and danced the night away, and not even a carpeted floor could slow them down. We are happy to say we have been invited back for this event next year.
July is a busy month for the band starting off with a stampede breakfast for the Sears employees. July 17th and 18th sees us at our favourite Calgary club, the Olive Grove in Midnapore, where great people and great food are guaranteed. On Sunday July 26th why not drive out to Black Diamond where we will be performing on main street from noon until 4:00 pm. This super old time Rock 'n Roll event is sponsored by Marv's Soda Shop and other merchants. While there, don't forget to stop by Marv's Classic Soda Shop for great burgers, milk shakes and other treats and memoralbilia that you would expect to find in a 50's soda shop.

Well here we are June already, my how the year fly's ! Speaking of time , did you know our bass player's wife ( Heather) and Rewind's drummer ( Pete) are celebrating birthday's this month ! Happy Birthday ! We would like to thank the people at Calaway Park for the great time we had playing for their V.I.P. event on May 23, the weather was great, the food even better! June finds our guitar player extrodinair Roy visiting Nashville for a much needed vacation ( hope he comes back ) . I of course have been camping in the snow and sun and looking forward to fishing season this month.
