Hello.  My name is Velma Derry and I sing back up vocals with Rewind.  I began travelling to dances with my husband in the seventies and rapidly discovered that I much preferred singing to sitting in the crowd being a spectator.  Thus began my musical career and for the next 25 years we performed as a duo playing for community style dances, mostly in rural Alberta.  I very much enjoyed this experience for the great times and great people we met. The money we made from music allowed me the flexibility to stay at home to raise our four children, which was an additional benefit. Being in Rewind enables me to share a passion with my husband and be involved with a great bunch of guys.  Watching people’s reaction to our music is very rewarding.  Setting up, tearing down, winding cords, and packing equipment, not so much!
